Little Musicians at home

We are close to the end of the school year.

These are the last two weeks so let’s make all the fun out of it!

For this week we are learning all about music and instruments, something kids totally love and as it’s very well known that at Speakid we love to stimulate our kid’s learning process with music.

Here you have some nice ideas that you can use for having some fun activities at home. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a musician ;)

For the youngest ones of the house: babies + all ages

Mimic the instrument and FREEZE

The instruments we would learn this week would be:

  • Drums

  • Guitar

  • Violin

  • Piano

  • Maracas

  • Flute

For this game you would set a movement for each instrument as pretending to play it, then choose an instrument, put a song and move according that instrument you chose. When you pause the song you’d have to FREEZE. Try changing instrument every time you unpause the song!

Feel free to use this week's song I am the music man.

You and your baby have so much fun pretending to be rockstars!

For kids and tods 3-6 yo

Use this worksheet so that your kids can practice tracing the lines. While they trace you can try to make them count in English, a good way to motivate them is by starting saying ONE and they would keep going with the counting.

Get the TRACE THE LINE sheet in here.

For junior and teen 7yo+ and all ages

Manual activity

Make a fun activity with something we always have at home:

the toilet paper rolls!

So fun to create an instrument out of it!

For creating a flute use at least three rolls. You can either cut three holes on each roll or paint them with black marker.

Paint, colour, decorate the rolls as you wish and then glue them with scotch. This is a fun craft that your kids would totally enjoy! And the best: is very affordable and easy to get (we all have it at home ;D)

We hope these activities help the little ones to enjoy and practice at the same time what they’ve learned. Let us know if you give it a try and don’t forget to share it with us!
