At Speakid we know how important it is to consistently review the basics.
This is why we spend at least 5 minutes in every class learning and reviewing the colours.

Colours are one of the first topics that children master as they are so easy to practice!
One of our favourite ways to teach the colours is with different fruits and vegetables.

Of course, we use toys, but at home you can use actual food. We encourage you to take a few minutes whilst having meals and snacks to ask your children what colours the different foods are.
Everyday at Speakid we spend 5-10 minutes on an active colouring worksheet, which helps children to match the colours in their written form to the actual colour they see.🎨

Our favourite way to teach colours is, of course, through songs! 🎶🎵🎶
There are so many amazing songs that will help your children practice the colours but my number one is 'sing a rainbow' 🌈🌈

Here we have some more home activities for all ages:
Pour toute la famille: a rainbow craft!
Materials:
- A large sheet of white card (une grande feuille blanche)
- Paper in all the colours of the rainbow (papier cartonné de toutes les couleurs de l'arc en ciel)
- Glue (colle)
Instructions:
- Cut out lots of handprints from the coloured paper. Arrange the red handprints in an arch and glue down the palms, leaving the fingers loose.
- Mettez vos mains et les mains des enfants sur les papier et couper autour pour faire des empreints de mains de toutes les couleurs de l'arc en ciel. Prenez d'abord les rouges et faites un arc très grand. Collez les empreints de mains mais laissez les doigts sans colle.
- Continuez avec toutes les autres couleurs pour faire votre arc en ciel en famille <3
Pour les petits (tods/kids 3-7ans)
Dans ces trois exercises vos kiddos vont mettre en pratique les numéros, la motricité et l'écriture

Pour les plus grands (Junior/teen 7+)
Dans ces exercises vos kiddos vont apprendre comment écrire toutes les couleurs en anglais et ils cont pratiquer leurs calcules: addition, subtraction et multiplication.
